Rejoice

James Broughton
Rejoice that light comes back for breakfast every day. Rejoice in woolly slippers that love cold feet. Rejoice in scar and welt for they are badges of initiation. Rejoice in the frowns of the ungrateful for they shall have cold sores and bad breath. Rejoice in the tricks of destiny for they fool many a smartaleck. Rejoice in the world’s miseries for they remind humans to acknowledge the Creator. Rejoice in officials who let red tapes rot in their desks. Rejoice in the uplifting of slaves and the downfall of tyrants. Rejoice in whatever will drive you out of your mind and find you a parking place in paradise.
