The Mad Housesitter Has a Good Day

Michael Hathaway
Coffee’s dripping into this day without clocks. Nobody wants me. I can listen to echoes all morning, talk informally with the turtle in Amber’s flower garden, share wheat crackers & popcorn, Write Dear Suzanne without hurry-up, tell her about this clockless day, how the cat’s asleep in the breadbox, how something is right with the world.
