Susannah Foster (1944–1982), born Andrea Campbell Cox, was a California poet whose work was gathered posthumously in Earthbound in Betty Grable’s Shoes, published by Chiron Review Press in 1990. The collection was edited by acclaimed Los Angeles poet Wanda Coleman and later received critical attention in American Book Review. Foster’s short life left a comparatively small literary record, but the survival and publication of her work place her within the Southern California independent-poetry tradition that flourished around small presses and little magazines.
