Alan Catlin is an American poet and fiction writer who has published prolifically in the small press since the 1970s. A longtime bartender in Schenectady, New York, he has drawn extensively upon barroom life, working-class culture, film, painting, literature, and the sometimes surreal encounters of everyday life. The author of numerous books and chapbooks, Catlin has appeared in hundreds of literary publications and has received multiple Pushcart Prize nominations during his long writing career.
