The Poet Spiel (1941-2024) was the literary identity of American poet and visual artist Thoss W. “Tom” Taylor, born in Colorado. Over a long career in both writing and art, he has created poetry, drawings, paintings, and conceptual work confronting sexuality, disability, illness, aging, social convention, alienation, politics, and outsider experience. His writing has appeared widely in the independent press, including Chiron Review, while his visual art has been exhibited professionally and recognized in major art-reference collections.
