Connie Edwards, born in 1949, is a poet from St. John, Kansas, whose writing played an important role in the origins of Chiron Review. Her cousin, poet and editor Michael Hathaway, was inspired in part by Edwards’s poetry to begin publishing The Kindred Spirit in 1982. The small literary magazine evolved over the following years and was renamed Chiron Review in 1989. Edwards’s work thus forms part of the personal and literary history from which the magazine developed.
